Last night I was trying to partition my disks but accidentally I deleted a very important drive fully loaded with lots of data and images. And the bad thing is win7 doesn't prompt for confirmation.
Windows 7 is a great OS, this fulfills fixes to nearly all issues that I have faced in VISTA. On my laptop Win7 system restore utility created a separate space (Disk drive) for system backup, when I launched the manage window it showed me 14 GB space reserved for backup & recovery.
This clicks me to start digging in getting lost partition back without installing external third party software.
With lots of surfing and trials I recovered the lost deleted partition.
The steps that I followed are:
- When you start the PC .. press F2 for more options and select "Ramdisk" option
- After selection it launches a window saying "Windows loading"
- Select the keyboard type from the drop down menu.. e.g. 'US', click on next
- Log in with your Admin credentials.
- The 'system recovery options' window will be launched. This will provide multiple options to choose the recovery tool.
- Click on 'System restore' option. This will restore the system to the earlier point.
Nice Technote, to start with Rakesh. I must appreciate the efforts and time spent on this.
